QuikFair is a lightweight, microballoon-filled, fast-curing two-part epoxy fairing putty with excellent moisture resistance. The two color-coded parts have a non-sagging, butter-like consistency and are easily mixed to form a third color.
At 77ºF QuikFair is sufficiently cured to be hand-sanded in 3 hours or machine sanded in 4 hours. This allows the user to apply three coats each 24 hours in a standard eight-hour shift or six in a round-the-clock basis.
QuikFair is a premium two-part fairing putty designed for marine applications. It has a smooth, butter-like consistency that spreads easily over your work surface. QuikFair cures rapidly, and sands exceptionally well within 4-6 hours at 70°F. It performs well over a variety of substrates which include bare wood, epoxy sealed wood, polyester resin, and steel.
Unlike cheaper polyester based fairing compounds, QuikFair does not shrink and crack over time. It bonds tenaciously to properly prepared substrates.

What is the SilverTip Series?
General Purpose Epoxy was our first product when System Three launched in 1979 and remains one of our bestselling, most loved products. At the time, it redefined the category by offering consumers an epoxy system that could be used in a wide variety of environments.
We revisited that playbook with the introduction of our SilverTip Series. In an effort to make epoxies even more accessible, we have "eliminated the guesswork" by formulating application-specific epoxy products to address every common marine project. With the most user-friendly epoxy products on the market, the SilverTip Series, we're making boatbuilding easier and more fun.
The general rule is that epoxies will bond over cured polyester but polyesters do not bond over epoxies. To get around this problem, we developed a resin system that can be used as a "tie-coat" barrier and is unique in allowing polyester resins and gel coats to be bonded directly over it. This epoxy is called the SB-112 and is available on our website
At 70° F (21° C), QuikFair can be sanded and coated in 4-6 hours. Cooler temperatures will increase the time to sand, while warmer temperatures will reduce the time to sand.
To ensure optimal adhesion, QuikFair should always be sanded smooth in preparation for coating and finishing.
