Marine varnishes have traditionally been used in combination with epoxy resin to provide exceptional protection to wood components in marine environments. The epoxy provides the waterproof characteristics, preventing moisture from contacting the wood. The Marine Spar Varnish protects the epoxy from the suns damaging UV rays and considerably extending it’s service life. Using just one of these components will produce sub-par results, while the combination produces a beautiful, long-lasting protective coating. Use on boats, outdoor furniture, doors or on any surface where a clear satin or glass-like finish is desired. Clear Coat makes an excellent base for Spar Urethane Varnish when superior weather resistance is required.
Read the System Three "Clear Finishing of Outdoor Wood” brochure for further information on this combination of products for long lasting preservation of outdoor wood.
