Why replace when you can restore? Rot is a fungus and it can spread quickly, infecting, and then destroying sound wood in its path. Replacement can be expensive or time consuming and sometimes nearly impossible. Cutting out the rotten areas may not remove all of the "infected" wood which will continue to rot.

What is the EndRot System?
The EndRot System is a group of products developed for use in the repair of architectural wood components that have been damaged by rot fungus, insects, extreme weathering and abuse. Each product in the EndRot System can be used separately. When used together they are a complete and permanent solution for repairing damaged wood. When repaired with the EndRot System, wood is as good as new, ready to prime and paint.
Apply RotFix penetrating epoxy within 5-10 minutes of mixing in order to seal the wood.
Brush a generous coat of RotFix over the affected area. Some wood substrates are very porous and will absorb the RotFix rapidly. A second coat may be necessary. More epoxy can be applied over wet or tacky RotFix.
We developed The EndRot Kit as an easy way to purchase everything needed to perform a typical small repair all in one box. The kit includes: Borate Powder, RotFix, SculpWood Putty, and SculpWood Paste. Use the kit to restore window and door casings, porch posts, balusters etc.
No. The EndRot Kit is intended for cosmetic repairs only.
For repair of vertical load bearing wood components, Sculpwood Max Putty should be considered. SculpWood Max Putty is a reinforced, high-compressive strength, two-part epoxy putty compound. It has four times the compressive strength of standard SculpWood Putty. The high compressive strength makes it ideal for repairing vertical load-bearing wood components such as posts or columns.
SculpWood Putty can be applied over the RotFix immediately, or up to 72 hours later without sanding. A wet-on-wet application of the SculpWood to the RotFix is encouraged to obtain a strong bond. There is, however, no detriment to applying the SculpWood later in time. If the RotFix has cured longer than 72 hours, degloss the surface with sandpaper or a soft, flexible abrasive pad. Apply fresh RotFix, followed by the SculpWood Putty.
With most rot repair applications, the SculpWood Putty will be the limiting factor. The EndRot Kit contains 16 Oz of SculpWood Putty, which will fill a volume similar to a softball. The kit is ideal for an individual repair of a window frame, door casing, porch post, baluster, etc. Note that for bigger jobs, all the products contained in the EndRot kit are available individually and in larger sizes.
